Change starts with the truth

Let’s combat Greenwashing with a dialogue that is open and honest

1. Just observe. Look around and record your observations. Are the products or services you see designed thoughtfully, with a concern for the planet?

2. Focus. Choose a company or other organization that has a large impact on the planet. Research what they say they have done for the planet.

3. Celebrate. Make posts that represent the positive work they have done. Think broadly about sustainability — energy, water, food, waste, transportation, product design, etc.

Make sure to add a #hashtag for the organization.

4. Challenge. Has this institution really invested in making their products or services sustainable? For example, does the institution generate most or all of their energy from renewables? (Or are they just buying credits and green washing?) Capture images and make posts to start conversations about new possibilities. Make sure to include solutions.

5. Share. Research the other experts or leaders who are in a position to make a difference. Share your posts with them. Post to your social media, through the Green Pin app.

In the comments section for each post, you can include the names of people who have the authority to make the change.

6. Mobilize in your area. On the map, find the pin for your city and weigh in on what the city can be doing. Rate the city and offer to help.

7. Contribute to the discussion. Become a trusted expert by keeping it positive, honest and focused on smart solutions.

Here’s how we can help organizations move faster for the planet
